About Flav

While I enjoy art and try to make drawings of my own, my professional pursuits have been in healthcare and academia. This website and the paintings I create are my hobbies. 

I worked in the healthcare industry for more than a decade. First as an epidemiologist and subsequently in various hospital executive leadership positions. In 2010, I transitioned to academia and I currently serve as the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and Vice Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.  In my work, I enjoy interacting with students both as an administrator and in the classroom. Teaching is a passion and I have taught in-person and online courses in gerontology.
